Background Info
Taiko drumming is a form of percussion involving large Japanese taiko drums. In the form we in North America, are most accustomed to, ensemble groups come together to perform kumi-daiko. The Toronto Taiko Festival is a taiko festival taking place every two years in Toronto. Taiko artists from all across Turtle Island are invited to gather, attend workshops, engage in talks, and view and take part in performances.
The Process
For the 2022 Toronto Taiko Festival, I was tasked with creating the website, and all of the print and digital promotional materials. These included festival merch, crew t-shirts, promotional postcards, event posters, concert promotion, the festival workshop registration and ticket system, and festival brochure.
